TRICKSTER by Christina Bauer #CoverReveal #Series #Fantasy #Paranormal #YA #Giveaway #Humor #PrinceLincolnsPOV

Trickster
by Christina Bauer
(Angelbound Lincoln, #3)
Published by: Monster House Books
Publication date: February 25th, 2020
Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Young Adult
***A hilarious adventure after the events of Angelbound SCALA … and it’s all from Prince Lincoln’s point of view!!!***
With the drama of the Ghost Towers and Lucifer’s Orb behind them, Lincoln looks forward to sharing some quality time with Myla. Maybe they’ll even do a ‘regular couple thing’ like a dinner date. Or they could kill more demons together. Lincoln isn’t picky.
Then a trickster gets loose inside Antrum. And by trickster, we’re talking a giant orange monkey with magical powers and a love of causing drama with uptight thrax.
Looks like date night is on hold.
Author’s Note To Readers: You can read this book after Angelbound Origins SCALA or not. I wrote it to work either way.
Author’s Note to Self: Why do I write things out of sequence? Wasn’t SCALA published a while ago? To which I say to myself: self, this is how our gift works. Just be happy it does. And go eat more cookies. We like those.
ANGELBOUND LINCOLN
1. Duty Bound
2. Lincoln

Hands-Free Business French: 100 Essential French Business Phrases for English Speakers by Eric Baron and Simon Borland #FrenchLanguageBook #AudioBook #BookReview #5StarReview

Hands-Free Business French: 100 Essential French Business Phrases for English Speakers

by Eric Baron and Simon Borland
Published: February 28, 2019
Genre: French Language Instruction, Travel Language Phrasebooks

*Chuckle* Oh the memories of high school and college French this elicited! Get ready for those verb tenses people because your gonna need them. Seriously though, this is an excellent learning tool, whether it's to brush up or get some additional training for your vocabulary.  Eric, a native Francophone who also speaks very clear English, lays out a variety of words and runs you through the tenses.  He explains words that are exceptions, shares the ones that are borrowed from English and helps with the correct pronunciation, all in one fell swoop. It was a great brush-up for me and great use of my time.  He also has a terrific recommendation on how to learn the information so that you will best retain it.  As someone with good communicational French skills after living in both Quebec and France, I highly recommend this.

Overall: 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TWO THOUSAND LINES by Michelle Jester #RecentRelease #ContemporaryRomance #NewAdult #YA #Excerpt #Giveaway

Two Thousand Lines
Michelle Jester
Publication date: November 21st, 2019
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance, Young Adult

Olivia Brooks has been able to keep her life in Sugar Mill, Louisiana held perfectly together, far away from the small town where she grew up. Even though her past still haunts her, she has found a perfect process of surviving, until a string of events brings Luke Plaisance to Sugar Mill and turns her organized life upside down.

While Olivia fights to hold on to the life she’s created, unraveling it may be exactly what it takes for her to truly survive. She must accept her past in order to live, or let it threaten the only future she’s ever wanted. Because some secrets can’t stay buried… and shouldn’t.

An inspiring and heartbreaking tale of abandonment, survival, and purpose. A harrowing journey of self-discovery and perseverance.

~ Excerpt ~

Luke saw her red face and swollen eyes.
“Whatever it is, I’m sorry.”
“No need. Besides, maybe I just cut an onion.”
“I’m not asking you why, Olivia, but also don’t feel like you have to lie to me. It’s none of my business and I know that. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.”
“Then why are you here?” she turned abruptly to face him, obviously angered.
“I like cinnamon rolls.”
“You also don’t have to lie either.”
“Mama Gigi,” Luke responded quietly.
“What?” Olivia bowed her head slightly.
“Mama Gigi. She said when I smell cinnamon and baking bread, if I look over here and your kitchen door is open, and I quote, ‘go to her and stay until she’s safe.’”
Olivia looked up with tears welling in her eyes again, “I’ll be sure to close my door next time.”
“No, you won’t. Mama Gigi said you will always have your door open when you make them. She thought whatever you were mourning was pretty strong, ‘cause it obviously made you feel suffocated.”
“I miss her. I miss her so much.”
Luke stood quickly and went to Olivia. He wanted to wrap his arms around her and hold her. But, as he got closer she stepped back, so he stopped.
“I can’t leave until you’re safe.”
“I’m never safe,” she whispered.
“You’ve been safe since I got here.”

GOBBLE GOBBLE MR. WOBBLE by Becky Cummings #ThanksgivingBook #Childrens #FamilyBook #FarmBook #BookReview

Gobble, Gobble Mr. Wobble
by Becky Cummings
Published:  October 7, 2019
Available Formats: Paperback, EBook, Kindle Unlimited
Genre:  Children's Bird Books, Children's Farm Books, Vegetarian Teachings for Children

Blurb:

Wobble the turkey loves Thanksgiving! Especially when he finds out Farmer Joe will be “having him for dinner!” He can’t wait to be the dinner guest on this most special day.
As Farmer Joe sharpens his ax and prepares, Wobble prepares too. He styles his gobbler. He practices his loud, joyous gobbles and gets to bed extra early.
Meanwhile his friends on the farm do not share his excitement. Wobble just can’t understand why!
How will dinner turn out for Wobble? Find out in this adorable story that captures the true meaning of Thanksgiving.

Spoiler Alert: The farmer and his family do not eat Mr. Wobble and he is the guest of honor. In the author’s note after the story, Cummings shares that she is a vegetarian and offers the idea of going meatless for one day a week. If you can gobble that, then grab this new must-have book for your collection!

My Review:

What a fun, cute story! Mr. Wobble is so excited when the Farmer tells him he is having some special guests to Thanksgiving dinner this year and for him to prepare to join them.  Of course all, as he preens and prepares, all of the other animals hang their heads, feeling very sad for him as they expect him to BE dinner. Everyone is in for a big surprise on Thanksgiving day!  Beautiful illustrations and so well written.  Perfect for small children but you might want to read it yourself first to be prepared for the ending.  Then you will know if it's right for your family! Fun, quick read on either paperback or eBook!

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received my copy of this book via a free giveaway and have gratefully chosen to review it.

Putting the Pieces Together
Growing Roots Book 4
by Chelsea Falin

As she continues to grow and change, Willie knows that she is far from the girl who arrived in Oklahoma little over a year ago. She’s growing, changing, and working on putting the pieces together in her life – just as her friends struggle to do the same.

“You never know, Willie. Death doesn’t discriminate by age or gender or social status. It’s one of the few things that doesn’t care. When it comes for you, it comes. It could be today, tomorrow, or a hundred years from now, but when your time is up, it’s up. There’s nothing you can do to change that.”-Dakota

Alabama offers many firsts for Willie. The most notable in her own mind is her first relationship. There are other firsts in store, however, and a whole new cast of characters to get to know. How will Willie handle this newest experience? Will she handle it in the mature the way she has always handled change? Or will this be the point in which Willie loses herself?
